Hideous Destructor | Star Wars Doom | No Failure Runs | Part 4
I do not like this map.
You might notice the kills being significantly lower than my other runs. This was caused by the map's huge size and high Frag presence, often resurrecting the bodies down by the compactor shaft (causing grief when you teleport down to it) and all around the detention facility, usually going above the +600 count. The lost soul spam and baron squad usage at the end was also pretty painful to go through (there's only one baron at the end, but that was because I was fast enough to escape before the baron brigade arrived to the floor by the center core elevator, you can expect heavy resistance at the exit if you spend too long in this map).
The defining part that made me dislike this map itself though was the secret switch required to open up the secret compartment to unlock the shaft's exit. No hints whatsoever, and even when you read the text file and know of the switch from the spoiler, you still need to wallhump some random wallswitch that has no defining features compared to the rest of the other walls. Basically this map has done the level design heresy of using obscure secrets to progress, which I do not tolerate and was the nail that finally made me put this map in the bottom drawer.
The maps after these 4 are of lower quality mapping-wise, but I still prefer them than this one.
