How to Lock your Photos on your Android Phone (100% Working)
1. Use Built-in Photo Locking Features
Many Android devices offer native features to lock or hide photos, depending on the manufacturer (e.g., Samsung, Xiaomi, Google).
Google Photos (Locked Folder):
Steps:
Open the Google Photos app (pre-installed on most Android devices).
Go to Library - Utilities- Locked Folder.
Set up a PIN or use your device’s screen lock (fingerprint/password) if prompted.
Select photos/videos from your gallery, tap the three-dot menu, and choose Move to Locked Folder.
Photos in the Locked Folder are hidden from the main gallery and accessible only with authentication.
Note: Locked Folder is cloud-backed but doesn’t sync to other devices unless explicitly enabled. Ensure you have Google Photos updated.
Samsung Secure Folder:
Steps:
Go to Settings - Biometrics and Security - Secure Folder.
Sign in with your Samsung account and set a PIN, pattern, or biometric lock.
Open Secure Folder, tap Add Files, and select photos from your gallery.
Photos moved to Secure Folder are encrypted and hidden from the main gallery.
Supported Devices: Samsung Galaxy devices running One UI.
Xiaomi Private Folder:
Steps:
Open the Gallery app.
Select photos, tap the three-dot menu, and choose Add to Private Album.
Set a password or use biometrics to lock the private album.
Access locked photos via Gallery - Private Album with authentication.
