How to Turn On Photo Gallery Lock on Samsung Phone
Enable Locked Album via Gallery Labs (Less Secure, One UI 5+)
Some Samsung devices running One UI 5 or later offer a Locked Album feature through Gallery Labs, a hidden experimental settings menu. This is less secure than Secure Folder, as photos may still be accessible via file explorers or third-party apps like Google Photos.
1. Access Gallery Labs (1-2 minutes)
Open the Gallery app.
Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) - Settings - About Gallery.
Tap the version number repeatedly (5-10 times) until a toast message says “Gallery Labs is enabled.”
Return to Settings in the Gallery app and look for Gallery Labs.
2. Enable Locked Album (1 minute)
In Gallery Labs, find and toggle on Album entry locks or Locked Album.
Return to the Gallery app’s main screen.
Select photos or an album, tap the three-dot menu (⋮), and choose Move to Locked Album.
Set a PIN or password (or use biometrics) when prompted to lock the album.
3. Access Locked Album (1 minute)
In the Gallery app, navigate to the Albums tab.
Look for Locked Album (may require authentication to view).
Enter your PIN/password or use biometrics to access the photos.
