To block and silence unknown callers on an iPhone, you can use built-in iOS features to prevent calls from numbers not in your contacts, effectively reducing spam or private calls. Here’s how to do it in minutes:

Silence Unknown Callers (1 minute):
Open Settings - Phone.
Scroll to Call Silencing and Blocked Contacts.
Toggle Silence Unknown Callers to On (green).

Effect: Calls from numbers not in your Contacts, recent outgoing calls, or Siri Suggestions will be sent directly to voicemail without ringing. The call still appears in your call history.

Block Specific Numbers Manually (1 minute):
Open the Phone app - Recents.
Find the unknown or private number - tap the info icon (i) next to it.
Scroll and select Block this Caller.

Confirm by tapping Block Contact.
Effect: Blocked numbers can’t call, text, or FaceTime you. Manage blocked numbers in Settings - Phone - Blocked Contacts.
