About this video: This video is our complete guide on how to make a Better Minecraft modpack server. We show you every single step of downloading, installing, and setting up a server with the Better Minecraft modpack. We show you how to get the Better Minecraft server files and even show you how to port forward to play the Better Minecraft modpack with your friends. So, without anymore delay, here is how to start a Better Minecraft server!
First things first, you need to make sure that you have the Better Minecraft modpack downloaded and installed. You can find a like to our dedicated tutorial on downloading the Better Minecraft modpack in the description above. You and anyone else who plays on your Better Minecraft server will need to install the modpack locally with CurseForge. Again, a video on how to do this is linked above.
With the Better Minecraft modpack installed, we can move on to getting the server files. You will find the Better Minecraft server files linked in the description above. Once you are there, look at the right-hand sidebar and scroll down until you see the ‘Minecraft Server Packs’ section. Click the orange download button next to the version listed here.
A .zip file will download. Right click on this file and click extract all. Click ‘extract’, and a new folder will appear. Open this, and you will see another folder. Drag this to your desktop. Finally, open this folder, and you will see a ‘forge’ installer. Right-click on this, click open with, and then click ‘Java’ and click 'okay'. If you don't have Java, you can download it from the link above. The Forge installer will open. Click 'Install server'. Click the three dots in the read box that appears and select the Better Minecraft Server folder on your desktop. There will still be a warning, but that's okay. Click the 'Ok' button and the Forge server file will install for your Better Minecraft server.
You will now have a run.bat file. Click that, and the server will try to start and fail. You will now have an EULA.txt file though. Open that, and change ‘EULA=false’ to ‘EULA=true’. Save the file, and you can click the run.bat file again. Your server will now start right on up!
To allow your friends to play Better Minecraft with you though, you will need to port forward. We show you exactly how to do this in the video, but you will need to port forward port 25565 on the TCP and UDP protocol.
At this point though, you can join your Better Minecraft server with your public IP. You can find how to get it in the description above.
