To make your Android phone stay awake (prevent the screen from turning off while charging) using the Stay Awake option in Developer Options, follow these steps. This works on most Android devices, including Motorola phones, running Android 10 or later:

Enable Developer Options:
Open the Settings app on your phone.
Scroll to About phone (usually at the bottom).
Find Build number (may be under "Software information") and tap it 7 times. You’ll see a message like “You are now a developer.”
Enter your PIN or password if prompted.

Access Developer Options:
Go back to the main Settings menu.
Look for Developer options. It’s typically under System or listed directly in the Settings menu (use the search bar if you can’t find it).
Tap Developer options.

Enable Stay Awake:
Scroll to the Apps or Display section in Developer Options.
Find Stay Awake (sometimes labeled “Stay awake when charging”).
Toggle it On. This keeps the screen on indefinitely while the phone is plugged in (USB or wall charger).

Test the Setting:
Plug your phone into a charger.
The screen should remain on, ignoring the usual timeout settings (e.g., 30 seconds or 1 minute).

To verify, go to Settings - Display - Screen timeout and note that the timeout setting is bypassed while charging.

Optional: Adjust Screen Timeout for Non-Charging Scenarios:
If you want the screen to stay on longer when not charging, go to Settings - Display - Screen timeout and set it to the maximum (e.g., 30 minutes).
Note: There’s no native option to keep the screen on permanently when not charging without third-party apps or automation.
