How to Enable 240 Hz on Monitor using Windows 10 or 11
To enable 240 Hz on your monitor using Windows 10 or 11, follow these steps:
Step 1: Check Monitor and Cable Compatibility
✅ Ensure your monitor supports 240 Hz at the resolution you're using.
✅ Use a high-speed cable:
DisplayPort 1.2 or higher (Recommended)
HDMI 2.0 or higher (For 1080p/240 Hz or 1440p/240 Hz)
HDMI 2.1 (For 4K/240 Hz)
🔹 Note: HDMI 1.4 may not support 240 Hz at 1080p.
Step 2: Change Refresh Rate in Windows
Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
Scroll down and click Advanced display settings.
Under Display information, select your 240 Hz monitor.
Click Display adapter properties for Display X (X is your monitor number).
Go to the Monitor tab.
Under Screen refresh rate, select 240 Hz.
Click Apply, then OK.
Step 3: Update Graphics Drivers
If you can’t see 240 Hz, update your GPU drivers:
NVIDIA: Open NVIDIA Control Panel - Display - Change resolution - Refresh rate: 240 Hz.
