Mass Effect: Legendary Edition gives us all an opportunity to revisit a beloved trilogy of games, but in the years since Mass Effect 3 wrapped up, it's easier than ever to see the flaws in this genuinely brilliant series of games.

Some dated elements can be fixed: textures can be updated, and Miranda's camera angles can be tweaked to stop being so distracting. It's harder, though, to fix a decision-making system based on Paragon and Renegade choices that rob players of the very freedom of choice that the whole system was designed to offer.


Please don't hate me for this super hot take: I love Mass Effect, I just recognise that it's not a perfect franchise.
