My memories for this game go back 20 yrs of playing it with my neighbor down the street for countless hours so needless to say I'm very well acquainted with this game. By having the choice to play as either Dr. Grant or a Velociraptor this game stood apart from the other Jurassic Park games of the time. As a result it seems to be the most remembered of the games based off the first movie for this very reason. Most kids that I knew that had a Sega Genesis had this game. And those that had this game always preferred playing as the Raptor as well since for the most part it was certainly easier and more straightforward than playing as Grant. For me personally I started out playing as the Raptor more so since the levels were easier and more straightforward...until I got to level 3 The Pump House. Having to those precise jumps near the end of the level stopped me dead in my tracks for a couple of years...so I switched over to playing as Grant and got far better playing as him then the Raptor. And so it remains today as well.

I did eventually beat the Pump House level (one time the game glitched and I was able to "swim" in the water instead of instant death) which quickly lead to me beating the rest of the game as the Raptor not long after. Since this game is arguably my favorite Sega Genesis game I'm very partial to it and its undeniable flaws. I find the jumping control to be rather imprecise when playing as the Raptor, which inevitably lead to most of my deaths while playing over the years. And when playing as the Raptor I do find it to be very easy for most of it with the jumping aside. But that being said the ability to play as a rampaging Raptor is what makes this game continue to stand out. For me the game is a classic licensed game of the era and certainly an imperfect classic for the console. Well worth picking up and trying out since its rather easy to find and usually cheap too! Essentially this game is my go-to Sega Genesis game still to this day!
