The 2nd of 3 Super Star Wars games on SNES. While all the games in the trilogy are regarded to be very challenging in spots this game seems to have gained a particular notoriety as the most difficult of the trilogy and possibly one of the hardest games on the SNES in general. While I don't think that its the most difficult one of the bunch or one of the most notorious on the console it is without a doubt very challenging and unforgiving in spots and also the only game of the trilogy that I haven't beaten on Jedi mode as well so maybe there is something to its reputation to a degree. Having said that though there are several new elements that take the edge off the difficulty in ways. The new double-jump certainly helps with big jumps as does the inclusion of special attacks for each character such as Chewie's spin attack, Han's bombs and of course Luke's force powers. Speaking of those powers I would argue that most are rather useless with the exception of force heal and force levitation...honestly without them the game is next to impossible. Add in the password feature and several power-up grotto's hidden throughout several levels this game does balance itself out rather nicely. Its no walk in the park though don't get me wrong. Several levels are pure hell in sections, particularly the Han Solo levels for some reason really stick out to me. While I do miss the character selections of the previous game it does make sense here since all the characters are split like in the movie. Speaking of which I find this game to not quite follow the movie as close as the others which for the most part is fine since all 3 games do take creative liberty with the story for the sake of game play so its no surprise either. When comparing it to the other 2 in the series I find this one to be possibly my least favorite if only by a hair, namely due to what I feel was too many pointless Hoth levels which does begin to get monotonous after awhile and starts to feel like a grind. After that though I feel the game does certainly pick up significantly. Always loved the Dagobah levels and the last couple levels battling Darth Vader are the main highlight of the game for me. Funny enough my first time through the game I didn't know that you actually block using the lightsaber...thought it was only through a force power you could block so I ended up beating the game without knowing that....which took FOREVER to actually beat it...especially Vader...that was a torturous grind and one of the most difficult things I've done in games of the era without question. Well enough of my rambling...go get this game if don't already have it since its a classic and a great addition to any collection. Love all 3 of these games near equally!!! This game was done on my actual cartridge as well.

Hope you Enjoy!
