Hmm...how to put this short.......this is without question my favorite game of ALL TIME. Hence why I did it as a playthrough and it will most likely remain as the only 1st party Nintendo game I do for my channel. There are too many factors and reasons to list about why this game is my #1 game of all time and there is nothing I can really add that others have not already said except my own experience of literally growing up with it. But this game was the very first game that I ever played way back when I was 3 yrs old with my dad and watching him slog his way through it over the course of a week or so. He made the mistake of getting to the end battle with Ganon and leaving me unattended....so not only did I get him killed I panicked and accidentally erased his entire file while trying to get back there so he wouldn't notice. Needless to say he was pissed beyond words but what can you really say to a 3 yr old? In my little brain I was thinking "I'll get you back there dad..even if it takes me all day". Famous last word....and so my gaming career began that fateful spring day. And true to my word everyday after preschool I tried my best to play the game and understand how it worked so I could get my dad back to where he was. This went on for 7 yrs straight since this was pre-internet and I had to rely on my dad's memory, my own exploration and other kid's hints and tips on the playground at school (need to mention that one kid was nice enough to write me out detailed instructions on how to get in to Turtle Rock and how to get through Ganon's Tower successfully) which would prove invaluable. The other unintended side-effect of all this was I started to write about my little gaming adventures before school in my daily Journal/Creative Writing class in elementary and my teacher was amused enough that she left me to write about continually instead of whatever the subject matter was on the chalk board that day. This game was what truly opened up the world of video games to me and also helped me find something that I had in common with other kids at the time and actually gained me a few friends that I'm still best of friends with to this day 20 yrs on! This game has given me a lot of joy over the years and has unintentionally proven to be one of those pivotal moments for me growing up. Especially when I beat it for the first time, that will forever be frozen in my memory completely freaking out while my dad stood by smiling and I suspect secretly proud that I stuck to my guns and saw it through to the end. Anyhow, enough of my reminiscing about old memories. I play this game at least once a year without fail and every time I do its like revisiting an old dear friend. If you don't have this game or have never played what are you doing reading this or watching this....GO GET IT NOW!!!
