Kwara Gov't Seeks TETFund's Bye-In To Upgrade Colleges Of Education To Universities

Kwara State Government is soliciting the support of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) to convert three Colleges of Education in the State to Universities of Education.

The Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq made the appeal when he paid a courtesy visit on the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Arc. Sonny Echono in Abuja.

He said with the upgrade, issues of academic lopsidedness would be addressed.

The Governor also spoke on some challenges which include infrastructure, security and over bloated staff that the schools needs to tackle.

Responding, the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Arc. Sonny Echono, said there is ongoing collaboration with relevant agencies to ensure the smooth conversion of the Colleges of Education into Universities.

He further assured the Governor of their commitment to ensure that all learning institutions across the country are safe.
