Late-Game Minecraft 165 :: Continuing on the Desert Link
2Now that we are done with the desert village end of the road, we work on the rest of it! We have already placed a long line of logs along one edge of the road two episodes ago. Today we place another line on the opposite edge, forming what looks like a set of very wide railroad tracks!
After we load into the world, we find a nice spot at the corner of the village that can be used for a tiny farm! We dig away the sand and start to relocate the farm that was blocking our road. For more building materials, we make a short trip to the savannah base where we pick up some cobblestone to restore the village wall, as well as some dirt and grass for landscaping.
At the desert village, we place some lanterns on the roofs of buildings which still do not have adequate lighting! Then, we complete the small farm plot as night falls so the villagers can use it the next morning. When we wake up, we dig up the seeds and farmland blocks so the road finally passes unobstructed through the centre of the town.
We fly up to the village watchtower for a better view. Seems like we forgot to till the dirt and plant the seeds for our local farmer, so we do so immediately after we are happy with the road. Afterwards, we fly over to the storage area in the desert where we clear our inventory.
A few oak trees have grown at the savannah base! We chop them down for more oak wood before we start construction on the road for the day! Firstly, we have to strip all the jungle and oak logs that was placed sometime ago.
Next, we start placing down logs and planks for the opposite edge! For the design of the road, we decided to use more stripped logs at the boundaries of the road, and use more planks at the middle. The stripped logs with their smooth textures act as a nice visual border for the road while not looking too intrusive!
Around half of the edge has been completed before we run low on jungle logs. We head back to the savannah base to pick up more stacks of jungle logs and to harvest more oak wood! Eventually we reach the walls of the desert village where we had started building the edge of the road from the other end.
We fly on top of a tall spruce tree to admire our craftsmanship! I should plant more giant spruce trees around the Minecraft world just to serve as vantage points! Anyway, we sleep for the night and call it a day. The next episode, we may be able to complete the entire road!
