Late-Game Minecraft 264 :: Crossing Dimensions
2Now that the excavation is completed, we need to gather resources to construct the mob farm! We use the Nether for fast travel and fly to a soul sand valley to dig up some soul sand! We end up in the End where we visit our Enderman farm to mend our pickaxes, before returning to our 1.17 base with the portal!
Heading back to the front of the deepslate base, we are clearing away the glow berry vines when we see an axolotl that looks a little lost! We pick it up with our water bucket and place the axolotl back in the stream. We swim with our axolotls just to see if any other axolotl has left the water as well!
Harvesting the sugar canes, we pick up our maps from the chests! We are crossing an ocean when we decide to return to the deepslate base and place down our bed. We set our respawn point with it, which allows us to immediately return to the plains when we leave the End!
Next, we take the flight down to the stronghold area! Along the way, we see a grass platform in the air above a flower forest, which we had created to make it easier to farm flowers. Below the platform, we find a wandering trader that we have traded with before!
Seems like we have not been to this area in a while, judging by the fact that the wandering trader has not yet despawned! We buy some green dye and tropical fish from the trader before heading south to find the stronghold.
Recognising a staircase landing along the beach, we walk over to enter the stronghold! This was the first and only stronghold that we have ever discovered in our world. It is quite convenient as the stairs lead directly down to the End portal!
Before going into the End, we decide to head to the Nether! With the help of our Elytra and our Nether highway system, we travel to our witch farm to pick up some redstone. It is getting dark but we are very safe in the swamp base as we had lit up all the dark areas to enhance the spawn rates of the farm!
At the witch farm, we also pick up some sticks and glowstone blocks! The sugar and spider eyes are mostly useless items, so we toss them into the murky swamp waters. Then, we go down to the animal pen below! A chicken seems to have got itself trapped with the horse, and we bring it back to the pen.
The sheep at the swamp base have been dyed with a variety of colours! We shear them for some wool before heading towards the Nether portal. We notice some drowned lurking in the swamp waters and slay them! I guess our base is not completely mob-proof, since we did not light up the water.
Returning to the Nether, we deal with a crossbow-wielding Piglin who is trespassing on our Nether highway! We start heading towards the portal to the stronghold. While slaying a magma cube, we realise that we still need some soul sand for bubble columns in the mob farm!
We fly back to the Nether hub and are rudely interrupted by a ghast! After dispatching the ghast, we give a trapped Piglin a gold ingot, and it throws us some gravel in return. Bummer, we were hoping to get some soul sand! We decide to fly to the soul sand valley and mine it ourselves instead.
The soul sand valley is home to many more ghasts! With the help of our bow and our Elytra, we get rid of all the screaming monsters before we start collecting the sand. We find a small cave with walls of soul sand, and collect two stacks of it before flying back to the Nether hub!
We keep some items in a double chest outside the portal to our savannah base! Then, we travel down the cobblestone paths to get to the stronghold. We pick up the items that we had bought from the wandering trader before heading into the End portal!
In the End, we glide down to the Enderman farm that is quite a distance away from the main island! We make use of a diamond sword that we had specially enchanted with Sharpness V and Sweeping Edge III to slay the Endermen!
We mend our tools with the experience before throwing away the Ender pearls into the void! Luckily, we had the foresight to install an on-off switch for the farm so we do not have to constantly listen to their screams. For added precaution, we keep all our items in a chest before we dump the Ender pearls!
Leaving the End with the exit portal, we find ourselves back at the deepslate base! We set up another double chest to store the items that we had gathered on our interdimensional journey. Heading down to the base of the square pit, we mine out a central area to gather the mobs in our future farm!
We place down our bed to sleep and skip the night. Then, we remove the diorite from the exposed surfaces! We fly up to the top of the hole, looking over the edge as we end the episode for today. Next time, we should be able to put in some of the redstone mechanisms for the farm!
