Now that we have everything we need for the mob farm, we begin to install the key mechanisms for the sorting and weakening of mobs! Below a block that a sticky piston will pull away, we dig downwards and create a deep shaft where skeletons and witches will fall to their eventual death!

First, we build an adjustable hopper clock with some sticky pistons and hook it up to some pistons where the mobs will be waiting behind! We place down stone bricks to mark the tiles where we have to place some redstone.

We fly up to the chests to look for our stonecutter, before realising that it was in our inventory the entire time! For more variety in textures, we use some chiseled stone bricks in the redstone circuit. We go up to the chests again to take out some glowstone for light.

Placing down the redstone wiring, we dig out a bit more space to house the hopper clock! On top of two hoppers that feed into each other, we place two sticky pistons facing each other with a redstone block in the middle. Comparators leading out of the hoppers and pointing to the pistons complete the circuit!

We need some blocks in the hoppers before the clock will function though! Flying back to the deepslate base, we pick up a stack of normal stone and rename it. Then, we place 6 filler items in the hoppers! To obtain a temporary pulse from the hopper clock, we return to the chest area to craft an observer!

With the observer in place, the circuit is complete! We pick up our Shulker box and our stonecutter before placing down more glowstone. Then, we start building the floor for the water channels above. Digging away some stone blocks, we break into the hole for the beacon beam!

Flying out of the beacon pyramid room, we see that the sun is about to set! Heading back to the water channels, we notice that the timing of the pistons is slightly off. Both the sticky and the normal pistons should be moving at the exact same time!

The next morning, we wake up in the redstone clock room! We pick up some redstone from our Shulker box and reconfigure the circuit and the repeaters so that the pistons all trigger at the same time. We get to the other side of the pistons to verify this! Here, we also start creating a drop shaft for the mobs!

Due to the movement of the pistons, the light in the shaft constantly flickers which is quite annoying! We fly back out to the chests in front of the deepslate base, where we pick up some sea lanterns. We plan to add these sea lanterns to the shaft for a steady source of light that also looks good!

After some failed attempts at jumping up to the water channel from the observer, we decide to mine away the smooth stone floor temporarily! We place down our sea lanterns at the top of the drop shafts before starting to mine downwards.

While mining, we find some deepslate diamond ore! How lucky! Eventually, we break into the beacon pyramid room, which will also be where we collect the mob drops and experience. We place normal stone on the walls of the shaft, as the different stone variants makes it look messy!

Hearing some squishing noises, we search the pyramid room before finding a small slime bouncing around! I guess there must be a slime chunk close by. We place our bed down to sleep. In the morning, we hear another slime!

Mining towards the source of the noise, we find ourselves in a nearby cave where a large slime attacks us from behind! Looks like we did not have to go all the way to the abandoned mineshafts for slimeballs. Oh well! This definitely makes it easier to craft the sticky pistons that we need for the mob farm!

After lighting up the drop shaft completely with sea lanterns, we fly back to the chests to clear our inventory of the items that we had collected while mining! We pick up some stone and go to the central collection pit to place stone bricks along the walls.

To block off the beacon beam hole, we decide to use glass blocks instead, which will allow the beacon to remain active and also allow us to place some water for testing! The constant sound of pistons is starting to irritate us, so we expand the redstone room to add in a switch that turns off the clock.

It is turning to night again! We swim out of the collection zone to pick up more water for our bucket. Once we make an infinite water source, adding the rest of the water is easy! Before ending the episode, we add more glowstone lighting to the redstone room, and complete the floor of the water channels above.
