Late-Game Minecraft 267 :: Gathering Nether Items
3Today, we are still gathering items for our mob farm! We head back to the mountain base to trade with the villagers, and use bone meal to grow some crimson fungi because we need wood that is resistant to fire! We also need some Nether quartz, so we head to the Nether to trade with the Piglins.
We fly over to the furnaces to put some stone to smelt while we go on our Nether adventure! Then, picking up our maps, we fly towards the world's spawn point. We stop by the swamp to say hello to our librarian at the swamp!
Seeing a scaffolding tower that we had constructed to oversee the construction of a road to the plains village, we try to land on top of the tower and end up taking a lot of fall damage! Oops. We will get back to the construction one day, maybe once we are finished at the new 1.17 area!
At the world's spawn point, we pick up some feathers and raw chickens which are good items for trading! We head over to the trading hall at the mountain base, where we also pick up some poppies for trading at the iron farm. We only manage to trade a few items before we see the villagers going to sleep, however!
The next morning, we continue with our trading! While waiting for the villagers to restock, we pick up some iron ingots from the iron farm to refill our Shulker box. We sell the spare ingots to the armourer, toolsmith and the weaponsmith villagers!
Once we are done with trading for the day, we head up to the storage room where we keep our spare resources. We stock up on rockets before taking out the items we need to grow some giant crimson fungi in the Overworld! We also pick up some Nether wart blocks to be turned into bone meal with a composter.
We plant down a crimson fungus and apply bone meal to get a tall fungal tree! We realise that this would rapidly deplete our supply of fungi though. A better idea would be to grow the fungi that we need from some crimson Nylium! We head back to the storage room to pick up the blocks of Nylium!
For the rest of the day, we continue using up our bone meal to grow crimson trees and harvest their stems! When we are low on bone meal, we head to the composter to get more. We had slept for the night, so our villagers would have more stock in their shops!
We add more Nether wart blocks to the composting system, then head to the iron farm to pick up some poppies! Deep underground, we trade with our villagers again. Not only does this supply us with precious emeralds, we also get to mend our axe and our hoe with the experience gained!
Back on the surface, we collect our bone meal from the composter! Then, we proceed to farm more crimson wood. We collect more than a stack of crimson stems, which should be adequate for our mob farm! We place the wart blocks in the composter and store the rest of the items in our storage room.
Seeing that the sun is about to set, we head outside with the intention of mining up the crimson Nylium so that we can store it back in the chest! However, we decide to save ourselves the trouble, in case we ever want to grow some crimson fungi again. We head to the Nether next!
In the Nether, we slay some zombie Pigmen to mend our tools and collect gold! We want to acquire some Nether quartz, but we also want to get it from a renewable source instead of mining some quartz ore and ravaging the landscape. Flying to the Nether hub, we craft some gold ingots to trade with the Piglins!
Instead of quartz, we get some leather, fire charges and obsidian! Oh well. We land on the Nether wastes beneath to slay more Pigmen, and find ourselves dealing with the Ghasts as well! We fly up to the screaming jellyfish and swipe at them with a sword to save the durability on our bow.
We also need some magma blocks for the mob farm! Heading into the ancient mines where we had mined the Netherite that we used to craft our tools, we see some magma blocks along the walls of the staircase. We are quite sure that there is lava behind the blocks though, so it would be dangerous to mine!
All the gold that we have gathered comes up to a measly 6 ingots! Trading it all with the Piglins, we get more obsidian, some iron nuggets, string and a water bottle in return. Those items are slightly useful, I guess? We place them in our double chest before ending the episode.
