【連縁/Len'en】Tough EE (Preview) Battle Showcase (UNREAL DEATHLESS)
Upon hearing a plea from a russian person and seeing someone beat this stage, ALePH_D has risen once again to deliver late to the party video
---
I initially wanted to upload this video somewhere in September (I recorded this video 29th of August), but I felt that everyone has already moved on from BotC and are now waiting for full version to come out, so I refrained from posting it. However it's not that exactly true so I come here to deliver a deathless run of it
Hoo, boy... Tough EE... The stage that gave me PTSD once I tried to beat it on HARD before UNREAL was a thing. This stage is an epitome of RNG hell, and not because enemies would randomly crit you, but because of enemy and player position - it was a matter of luck when you'll get that one lucky position where enemy Tsubakura would not do its first strike and when your Tsuba would be able to deliver that necessary first strike. Now with the position update - this fight wasn't as painful as I remembered - I even beat it on UNREAL first time with every mission completed! But I did lose Tsubakura that day, so I decided to do a deathless run of it to add extra challenge to myself
Reccomended Units:
Yabusame (Rearguard) - Additional Support (they're surprisingly good at that job)
Tsubrubami (Rearguard) - Your Reliable Support
Tsubakura (Rearguard) - Sniper, don't try making them into melee attacker, they'll die
Fake Tsubakura (Middleguard) - KEY COMPONENT (Crowd Control)
Hooaka (Middleguard) - Sub-DPS
Aoji (Middleguard) - Nuke
Kurohebi (Vanguard) - Sub-DPS, good at dealing with this stage thanks to "Bane of Humans" perk
Rei-kun (Vanguard) - Main DPS. Replace duplicates of Monochrome Rays with Gensokick and Crimson Lotus Sword for better coverage
Clause/Tenkai (Vanguard) - Surviviabilty. Clause is good as a healer, Tenkai as a tank/buffer
One thing to note is that the battle is heavily reliant on the units' position, if you position them incorrectly, Tsubakura will kill your units - if they're charging "Monochrome Ray" however - it means you're safe from their onslaught and subsequently defeat. In fact, the more enemies forced into charging up their attacks - the better as it gives you time to kill them ASAP. Elimination priority:
Tsubakura - Hits like a truck, luckily pretty frail so taking them out shouldn't be an issue
Tsubakura? - They will weaken your defences if you let them charge up their "Monochrome Storm", take out immediately
Kuroji - They WILL target your Fakebakura - who is a key component in your team, also take them out ASAP
Hooaka/Kurohebi/Aoji - They got level 3 buff to their offences as such they're even more deadly, especially Aoji
Clause/Yabusame - Annoying tanks
Tsurubami - If they're charging "Crane's Cry", if they used "Monochrome Bivalence" - you should change your units' position because you failed
So here are the things you should keep in mind:
- Keep your Fakebakura alive and target as many enemies as possible
- Refrain from using charged moves - it'll only slow your momentum. That's why Kurohebi/Hooaka/Rei-kun are great here. Use charges only for nukers, and even then if they're safe
- Never use Kuroji, they're that terrible
- Have your skills at around 70-100 level depending on units' role
- Don't forget about flashbombs

Welp, onto post strategy comments, well... I planned to upload late Halloween special and that update/wip showcase video, but my sins at university started to weigh down on me, so I have to be quick on my writing and be sneaky with cheating. And to let you know that I'm still alive, I decided to continue with my Tough UNREALs escapades in preparation for full BotC - maybe it'll help newer players wanting to beat those stages and for archiving purposes
