Lenovo IdeaPad Y410p - Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Performance Test (Ultra, 1080p)
Not all Transformers games are bad. There are a handful good ones, and this is one of them. Actually, this and its prequel, War for Cybertron, are the only ones I know that are good. Really good. Definitely worth any G1 TF purists' attention. The other great thing about it? It runs like a champ, even on fairly modest rigs.
On the Y410p, the game runs at above 50 fps mostly on the highest setting (Extra) in 1080p. Don't have a dedicated GPU? Not a problem. The game runs at 30 fps mostly in 768p on the Extra setting, at least for the Intel HD Graphics 4600. On Low, it goes up to 40+ fps. Since the HD 3000 has about half the graphical power the HD 4600, expect a framerate of around 15 to 30+ fps on Low in 768p. The prequel runs even better, keeping the game at 30 fps in 1080p on the highest setting with the HD 4600. That's the max achievable framerate, v-sync or no v-sync, while FOC is locked at 60 fps.
Speaking of the previous game, I miss the double jumps and the secondary weapons. Here, you can do a dash after jumping, Megaman X style. With the advent of next-gen titles, I'll miss how games ran at 30 to 60 fps on Ultra on this baby.
