While we haven’t encountered any puzzles to solve or people to speak to on the ground level or in the basement, that doesn’t mean we won’t uncover clues to solve things in the future. Paying attention to your surroundings and what’s said about certain things is essential to picking up important hints that will make sure things later aren’t frustratingly difficult. Games don’t always spell out what’s important, though you’ll quickly get a feel for what the particular game your playing does when it wants to place down a trail of breadcrumbs for you to follow.

One trick certain point and click adventure games so to feed you hints in a natural way is to place some kind of administration room that you can access. It makes perfect sense for lots of information to be there, though finding exactly what you want can be a lengthy and/or difficult ordeal all its own depending on how cruel the game is feeling (I’m looking at you, Space Quest VI). The gloves haven’t come off in this game yet, but I imagine it’ll only be a matter of time before they do.
