Let's Play Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition Co-op [6] - Lighthouse
Hope you're ready for some co-op boss battle gameplay from Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition, because that's what we've got in store this episode of the LP. If you haven't already, please take a look at episode 5.5 which explains wh we've skipped ahead to the Lighthouse fight against the Ghoul That Guards The Lighthouse, and also summarizes all the gameplay that you misssed. Essentially, it was a corrupted audio file. But since the video was there, we were able to make highlights/summary reel type thing. Luckily the boss fight did not fall into the video, so we're able to share some of that sweet, sweet combat encounter with you!

Now, this part of our Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition coop playthrough is not just the Lighthouse fight, but it's mostly the lighthouse fight. We also talk to this weird ghost who lives inside of the lighthouse in this video, so you can listen to some of those professionally voice-acted dialogues again. That said, it's mostly the Lighthouse battle, and I think that's okay.
Divinity: Original Sin has amazing combat. Indeed, the combat is probably the best part of the game, vanilla or Enhanced Edition, so if the entire episode is amazing combat I'm cool with that. It will probably be interesting to watch how we handled the situation, and how that differs from how you or someone else might have handled it. That's the beautful thing about the gameplay in Divinity: Original Sin. There's no one right way to do things. You can try various tactics and find the ones that work for you depending on the situation you're in.
In this Ghoul That Guards the Lighthouse boss battle, we took a bit of a slow, war of attrition approach to the encounter. In case you're not aware, this boss has a bunch of dogs with it. It can revive those dogs as zombies every turn. If you kill it, obviously it stops. But you can also just keep on killing the dogs until a certain point where the ghoul just decides to attack you instead. Even then, it's still a strong enemy and can hurt your characters and poison them on hit. We took the latter strategy, and so it took us a long time.
