Let's Play Donkey Kong Country 3 - Part 8: A World of Kaos
Same song, second verse, a little bit louder and a little bit worse.
Blazin' Bazukas is the fourth stage of Mekanos, another factory one, with another new enemy. Bazuka, who appears a lot in this stage (well, it is named after him), is a shrimp of a Kremling with a BIG FLIPPING BAZOOKA that can shoot any one of three kinds of barrels. There are even switches that change which kind of barrel they shoot. You need this in one or two places, such as when getting the DK coin. Squitter also makes another brief appearance.
Low-G Labyrinth, which would be 4-5, is a weird one. It's set in the sewers again, but this time, there is a gimmick that makes you and everything else have low gravity. You can jump much higher, you fall slowed (even when falling offscreen after being hit), and Dixie's Helicopter Spin lasts for a LONG time. The "Labyrinth" part of the name doesn't really come in until the second half of the stage, when we use a relative of Squawks (he's purple!) to navigate through pipes with lots of bees and branching paths. With this animal buddy, you can pick up barrels and drop them on stuff, although that unfortunately doesn't come into play much in this one (don't worry, we'll get to do it later).
Finally, we come to the boss of World 4, Kaos, who is a funky-looking robot with a detachable head. He's one of those bosses that can either be very easy or kind of tricky, and fortunately, the former was true this time. He moves back and forth and occasionally drops down and shoots fire out of his bottom (tee hee), and you have to run under him when he isn't emitting fire. He then stops and sends a pair of flat blades circling around his body three times. On the first or third times, you can use the blades as platforms to jump up and bonk him on the head (the second time, boxing gloves come out of his middle and knock you off but don't hurt you). After three hits, his head pops off to reveal another...um...unusual head. He no longer moves back and forth at this point; his old head will come down and shoot lasers at you (that are really easy to dodge), and he alternates between the lasers and the three rounds of blades.
With Kaos defeated, we are now halfway through the game!
