Though I didn’t get everything that I wanted during my excursion into the Nether, I’m quite happy with what I could get. We can always go back in the future when we have more arrows and need to grab some nether wart, but the brewing stand was the main thing I wanted. Now I think it’s time to begin a long term project that will eventually open up a myriad of possibilities with my equipment.
We already have an enchanted item or two that we fished up from the water, but there are so many more enchantments that we can get access to. They can be found in book form within strongholds and they can also be traded for with villagers, but the former depends entirely on your luck and villagers only have a finite number of books to trade. The main way we’ll be getting enchantments is through the enchantment table, a mystical item that’s made more powerful by being in close vicinity of bookshelves.
Bookshelves are made using books and planks and you make books using leather and paper, while enchanting books or items consumed lapis lazuli. We’re well on the way to accumulating a huge stockpile of paper and wood is easy to acquire, while lapis lazuli can be found minded or traded for in villagers. Leather is another story, however. It can be fished up as a junk item or found in naturally spawned villagers that have a leatherworker, but the main source of it comes from animals, in our case cows. It’ll take a while to get the forty five leather we need to get the enchanting table to maximum power but the sooner we get started, the sooner we’ll be done.
