Let’s Play HC Minecraft Take Three #70: Levelling up the Metalworkers

While all of the villagers in Minecraft are useful in their own way, there are two kinds that I find the most essential. The first of these are the librarians for their enchantments, but the second group are the metalworkers. Weaponsmiths, armoursmiths and toolsmiths not only provide you with a way to turn your excess coal and iron into emeralds, they also give you some very desirable equipment trades in the form of enchanted gear. The iron stuff is useful in its own right – provided you get a decent set of enchantments – but the diamond equipment is great even if you strip away the magic, for diamonds are technically finite.
The metalworkers give you an infinite supply of diamond weapons, armour and tools, allowing you to save your mined diamonds for other things. Their prices may be high but, given enough time, you can get all the emeralds you’d ever want. Sometimes they even have useful enchantments that serve as a stepping stone to making your ultimate gear, unbreaking being the most universally useful of those. All in all, the metal workers are a huge initial investment of resources but it pays off dividends later on.
