Let’s Play INSIDE #04: Orb and Me, Under the Sea
This is a blind playthrough of the game. As such, please avoid posting puzzle solutions or plot spoilers, so as to not spoil the experience for me or other viewers who haven’t played the game.
We’ve already had some brief excursions beneath the water, showing off that secrets that can be hidden there as well as the fact that we can only hold our breath for so long. There’s sure to be perils in the murky depths too and, like it or not, we’re going to have to have to enter into their domain. Fortunately for us, we won’t have to swim the entire way through, for some of the people we’re trying to hide will leave us something that will make the trek a lot easier.
For a game that gives you no direction on what you’re meant to be doing, everything has so far been fantastically intuitive. It shares that with Brothers, another game I’ve recently let’s played – and one you should check out if you haven’t already – though it differs in only having one person to control on a 2D plane. Nothing needed to solve the puzzles placed before you is hidden away maliciously, though you sometimes have to be quick to realise the peril before you and react in time. The game is also very generous concerning failure, placing you very close to the point of your demise so you can get right back to solving the puzzle. While I have little doubt that the game will get more complicated still as it progresses, it’s given me faith that it’ll never become obtuse, a great thing when playing a puzzle-platformer.
