Let's Play Make a Good Mega Man Level Contest - #01: Tier 1 Levels
Welcome to my Let's Play of Make a Good Mega Man Level Contest (or MaGMML for short), a Mega Man fangame created by a whole bunch of people. The original engine was created by Blyka, and was later extended by SnoruntPyro to make it easier to add stage elements as well as adding a ton of extra stuff.
This game came about from a competition on Sprites INC and Talkhaus, which centered on designing good Mega Man levels using the aforementioned modified engine. Twenty people submitted levels (I was one of them), and these would be scored on several categories by five judges. These would be then organized into tiers based on their rank, and included into the final product shown here.
In total, there are 26 primary levels, more than 10 boss fights, and an ever-updating hub world to explore (similar to the MaGML games in fact). This may in fact be one of the largest Classic Mega Man fangames to be released. And thanks to the variety of stage designs and themes, there's a lot of content to go through. Sure, stages in tiers 1 and 2 may be substandard, but they are mostly manageable. The stages following them are all at least decent and better.
In this part, I complete all of the stages and the boss fight in Tier 1. Moreover, I agree with the stage rankings in this tier. I will deviate starting from Tier 2. So, I'll list my order in the description.
