Let's Play Might and Magic 7! Part 21 - These Walls don't look like Mist...
Today begins with some maintenance. Move some equipment around, spend some SP, and mix some potions. Then it's time for EXTERMINATION.
That's right, today truly begins with a game of Kill All Griffins. This includes the friendly ones around town. This will also incur me a fine, which will later lead me to a funny thing happening.
It's finally time to enter and actually complete the Walls of Mist to get the Lich Jars needed for the Lich promotion quest. This is still a very dangerous place, as the Sorcerers all Dispel me and summon Light Elementals, and the Air Elementals and Genies never stop shooting at me. It's really a war to kill all the Sorcerers, which are far more dangerous.
The dungeon itself is fairly simple. The main chamber has three arches and three locked buttons. Each arch teleports you to a separate chamber with a puzzle to solve and a key to obtain. Solve all three chambers, get all three keys, and unlock all three buttons to escape through the back of the place. On the Dark Path after getting the quest for them, the Lich Jars will be in a chest in the newly unlocked exit area. On the Light Path, you have to solve all the puzzles and exit through the back without killing anything within, a much harder thing to do.
I temporarily give up on this dungeon to go out and turn in the Griffin quest. This gets me a fair amount of experience and nowhere near enough cash to cover the fine that I still haven't paid as of yet. I go back to The Pit to turn in this quest, then head back to Castle Gloaming to get the next story quest only to be jailed due to having outstanding fines. Oops. Reload the autosave and back to Erathia to pay my fine, THEN go back to Castle Gloaming for the next quest.
New quest involves heading to Land of the Giants and killing the King of the Devils, Xenofex, in his home at Colony Zod. We also now have the Blaster skill on everyone. I'll be putting the blasters away for a bit as my own weapons are plenty enough for the moment.
Back to Walls of Mist yet again. This is it, this time. I'm gonna get it done! Fortunately, I get lucky and have far fewer Sorcerers to deal with. The puzzles themselves aren't that difficult to deal with, and once you have cleared all the chambers, there's no more monsters left to deal with before you reach the Lich Jars and can exit out the back.
Taking the Lich Jars back to The Pit we are all made Honorary Liches and the Jars are removed from our inventory, which is nice because space is premium most of the time. Quest log is super clean, now! Of course, I now have very little direction since Land of the Giants is big and scary to contemplate at the moment. I decide to return to my Hydra extermination in Nighon for the moment... we also finish off all of the Rocs, as well!
For my last act I train in Celeste, because the trainers in the other places I can go were closed at that hour. I have a lot of SP to spend!
