Let's Play Might and Magic 7! Part 22 - Dungeon Cleanup
Rather than head straight to Land of the Giants to complete the game, I consider that there are four dungeons that I've either never visited or never completed. Out of these four, only one had anything I actually needed; the rest were places that you generally only need to visit for Light side promotion quests. I forgot one more dungeon I could potentially go to, though: Watchtower 6 in Deyja.
So first we do some organization before heading to Tatalia to complete two dungeons: The Wine Cellar and The Mercenary Guild. Wine Cellar is actually a Vampire crypt and also contains Bats and Necromancers. Bats are nothing, but Necromancers know Shrapmetal and WILL kill you if you close with them. The treasure is kind of meh, but hey, it's one more dungeon cleared!
Mercenary Guild contains Archers, Bandits, and Champions of the Sword. Those first two are pushovers, that last one is still dangerous to us. Once again, the treasure is kind of meh; we do find a quest item called Heart of the Wood, but this is nothing we need other than to boast that we have it. It's used for the Ranger Lord promotion quest and would make all the hostile trees in Tularean Forest stop attacking us.
With these completed, it's off to Avlee where the next two dungeons are located. First we tackle the Temple of Baa. Wait... Temple of Baa?? Those guys are still around?? Three enemy types here: Clerics of the Moon (called Clerics of Baa here), Devils, and... Spiders? This is kinda weird...
These are the first Devils we face in this game, and there's only three varieties: Workers, Warriors, and Captains. They can be incredibly strong, but not in these numbers, I think. It's interesting to note that, unlike the previous game, Devils leave corpses behind instead of burning up completely. The dungeon is fairly small and straightforward and the loot is also fairly mundane. We do get a Relic called Cloak of the Sheep, though it's not all that appealing to use.
The last dungeon is also the most dangerous of them: Titan's Stronghold. We snuck in here earlier to grab The Perfect Bow for the Sniper promotion quest. Now we want to clear this place out. Titans are all over the place in the hallways, though mostly by themselves you sometimes find two or three clustered together. The hallways are long and wide enough that you can generally lure off just one or two and let them chase you around while firing at them from afar. The other enemy here is Dragons: they tend to hang out in dead end rooms and also tend to get themselves stuck on pillars that occasionally force them out of bounds making them impossible to hit or to hit you.
I don't complete the dungeon in this video, but I get about halfway done. The treasure here is hit or miss, so I leave quite a bit of it behind.
