Let's Play Might and Magic 7! Part 18 - Pirate's Treasure! (Real)
After working on some spells and skills for Lushiris, I count how many Obelisk messages I have and realize I never got the one from Avlee, so after a day's rest off I go to Avlee to finally liberate the Obelisk and the treasures on that island from the Water Elementals that inhabit the place. The treasure leads to a fit of potion mixing to make those Black Potions that boost our statistics.
My exploration for reagents leads to finding another island with Water Elementals and a building that I didn't know the purpose of at first; then it hits me that it's one of the places for statuettes to go for that quest. Onwards to the southern plane of Avlee to kill Wyverns and collect reagents for potions.
A little more exploration finds some more Wyverns and a building that I've never been in before. This is the location of the very last Temple of Baa... I guess nobody told them that they lost everything in Enroth...
That's enough procrastinating. I'm after Obelisks, so first prepare and Town Portal to Celeste, where... the Rocs around the Obelisk AREN'T hostile?? This is weird... Oh well, grab that Obelisk and Town Portal to Nighon, where this time the Rocs ARE hostile on the way to the Obelisk. I try out Death Blossom, but it's really hard to aim and actually hit things with. Then I get distracted looking at the map and figure I want to check some things out to the south where there's a shrine that gives Intellect and Personality once.
At the top of the central mountain are several ores and reagents, and the minimap makes it looks like there's one last item in the central pit there... when we fall in a sound plays and nothing seems to happen. I click around a few times and get the same sound effect, and then three people die, leaving Lester the only one left alive! I think we just fell into a volcano... Fortunately, Lester has one of our only Town Portal Scrolls, so I use it to leave right away.
Back in Harmondale to get everyone revived, and this is opportune as I need to use the shrine to teleport to Land of the Giants... but first doing a little inventory cleaning of all of my Stalt Ore. A little cast of Fly and Invisibility and I can safely make it to the last Obelisk. Now I can head to Evenmorn Island to get the treasure mentioned in the Obelisk messages. The message reads the following:
pirates five one survive hide their gold under the sand white flower witching hour bloom upon a haunted land
Before heading off, though, we need a little inventory cleaning to make room for whatever we might find. This includes turning my ores into items (and then selling those items to make room, again).
Of course, Evenmorn has respawned (pretty sure it does every six months), so let's clear this place once again and perch ourselves in the location where the flower containing the treasure will bloom. 100000 gold is very nice, as are the ores and reagents. The equipment is mostly a dud outside of the Hero's Belt which is going on Lester as soon as I figure out a good way to reconfigure his loadout.
Today's video concludes with a really weird bug I've never encountered before that prevents me from doing anything in turn-based mode. Our gemstones just never turn back on. Saving and reloading lets us out of turn-based, but it happens again, and again. I thought maybe it was caused by Nighon itself, maybe something from that volcano, but it turns out it just is completely bugged out. I would later find out that exiting the game completely and turning it back on fixed it.
