Let's Play Might and Magic 7! Part 17 - I've got a dragon!
2Today starts like a lot of these videos start: with inventory management. Once that's done, I go to a particular entrance to Thunderfist Mountain that gets me to the part that I blocked myself off of and finish off the rest of the monsters there. Then it's off to the Tunnels to Eeofol...
This place is extremely dangerous. Our old friends the Medusas are back, and they've brought new friends in the form of Behemoths which we last saw in The Breeding Zone. There's some long, wide tunnels here, but also some very narrow ones that make picking off many of the Behemoths a bit easier. Medusas, on the other hand, are neutered by Protection From Magic, so we just run up to them and wipe them out when given the chance.
This place is fairly big, but we manage to clear it out completely, which is a pretty big accomplishment for me, as I've never actually stepped foot in Thunderfist Mountains before this Let's Play, let alone Tunnels to Eeofol. Why did we want to do this? Because the Land of the Giants is beyond this tunnel and that's where I have to go to get the Dragon Eggs needed for the Druid Warlock promotion quest!
Land of the Giants is incredibly dangerous, though. It's full of Titans and Dragons, which are some of the strongest monsters in the game. Fortunately, the area around the exit from Tunnels to Eeofol are safe enough, and we can cast Fly and Invisibility to get around. The moment we enter this area we are contacted by... Archibald Ironfist?? He gives us a Blaster and asks us to rescue his brother Roland from the Devils, which, surprisingly, doesn't tack another quest on our log. We more or less ignore this and make a beeline for the shrine that can teleport back and forth to/from Harmondale.
With the shrine now activated, we can fast travel directly to the Land of the Giants from the shrine in Harmondale, making it much easier to deal with anything in this region. For now, our goal is one of the Dragon Caves. It's situated on the mountain in the snowy area just a little higher up than we can fly, but there's enough land to walk up to it... though dodging Dragons to get to it is not easy.
This Dragon Cave is large enough that right by the entrance is safe, so we can refresh our Invisibility here if needed. Our goal here is the furthest chamber which houses a single dragon and a pair of dragon eggs which we need. We also loot a chest because why not? Taking these eggs back to Mount Nighon nets us the Warlock promotion for our Druid, which leads to getting Grand Master Alchemy and Meditation! Time to mix up some Black Potions!
