Let's Play Mirror's Edge: Catalyst | Episode 10: Sanctuary | Black November | Underground Hideout
2Welcome back to Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, a reboot of 2008's Mirror's Edge with improved graphics, refined gameplay, and a completely original story. The tale follows Faith, a Runner in Glass, Cascadia, a fictional country in a fantasy world where a comunist government got overtaken by private corporations. After a stint in Kreuger's Juvenile home for a period of three months and finding herself in debt to Dogen, a local crime boss, Faith is finally released and must work off her debt as soon as possible. On a high-paying job, she finds herself tailing an OMNISTAT spy and steals something valuable from him. This device could be her salvation or her unmaking. The game primarily focuses on Parkour even though it has fighting and combat ever now and then. It is a first person 3D platformer.
With Noah no more and his cabal no longer safe, Faith and Icarus have to find a new place to lay low until the tension boils over. Icarus says that he knows of a place and tells Faith to come meet him near the crane.
Once there, Icarus reveals that the place is actually the Black November hideout which is currently being controlled by Rebecca Thane. Faith voices out her protest, saying how Noah did not trust her, but Icarus reiterates the necessity of their safety and soon. Meanwhile, the media has been calling Noah the leader of a dangerous criminal organisation, probably to assure the public of their safety following the blast.
Faith navigates the tunnels and finds herself amidst the hideout, where she meets Thane. Rebecca wastes no time in telling Faith that her generosity is not only temporary, but also conditional to the acquisition of the drive that she has been make her drool. With that message, she sends Faith off to her temporary quarters to rest where Faith dreams of her past and the November riots where she lost her parents to the same man to whom she lost Noah.
