Let's Play Spec Ops: The Line | Chapter 3: The Edge | Tracing the Signal
Welcome back to Spec Ops: The Line, a soft reboot of the Spec Ops franchise that changes up the formula, turning a series that was originally meant to be a tactical shooter into a narrative masterpiece. While the game still has remnants of its Tactical Shooter roots, the gameplay focuses far more on the story of Captain Martin Walker, who enters a war-torn Dubai in order to rescue a man he admires, John Konrad, after an evacuation mission involving the 33rd Mountain Battalion goes awry. What they find waiting for them in Dubai sets the stage for an explorative and less-mentioned side of warfare that is seldom seen or talked about.
Following the clues back to the 33rd, Walker and Co. came across a broadcast of a person being tortured over the radio. Following the radio signal, they find themselves in a hotel.
They overheard a conversation about the situation at hand, and as it turns out, the person in charge of the current predicament turned out to be none other than Radioman, an unhinged individual that Walker had once served with in Kabul. This was something suggestive of the Colonel's involvement.
Wading through the forces in place at the hotel, Delta found themselves in a dilapidated hotel. As soon as they tried the only door available to them, they found nothing but sand on the other side that washed over Walker and swept him out of the building, plummeting him off the side of the skyscraper and turning him into a bird.
Without the quick thinking of Walker, who grabbed onto a pole and quickly clipped his carabiner on it so that he could safely descend and fall without hurting himself.
Despite that, he fell and was knocked unconscious.
Here is how Walker found a new signal to trace to the 33rd:
00:00 Introduction
01:00 A new signal
02:26 Tracing the signal
05:40 Heavy Resistance
11:35 Snipers
17:43 Glass Cielings
20:55 Identities
