Throughout our quest to save Britannia, the Guardian has attempted to stop us in various ways. He started by sending a gazer to Earth through the moongate summoned to bring us to Britannia but it was powerless on a planet without magic. Upon our arrival the wyrmguard tried to immolate us with a dragon but since then, our nemesis has done little to actually end our efforts permanently. Sure, Blackthorn tried to capture us outside Despise and succeeded in doing so after Hythloth but in both those instances the plan was to keep us alive rather than get rid of us. Our quest has only been possible because the Guardian has LET it be possible which makes you wonder what it has to gain from doing so.

Perhaps we’ll get the answer to that question sooner than you’d think, for the Guardian has decided that it’s time for the Avatar and he to meet face-to-face for the very first thing. Oh, he’s talked at us many times since he revealed himself in Ultima VII but we’ve never been able to talk back. Now we’ll get more than an opportunity to find out what the Guardian’s plan is but also to end the threat he poses to Britannia and the rest of the universe once and for all. It may not seem like the end game but we’re pretty well equipped and in the end, the Guardian is flesh and blood just like us, no?
