The second floor - which in reality was the first full floor in the game - isn't particularly difficult if you take it slowly and don't bite off more then you can chew in combat. You're given quite a lot of time to plan for an encounter and even when the shargas take you by surprise, they're rarely right next to you for a little while. We managed to get a lot of decent starting equipment and more importantly, the first of the orbs that Thera tasked us with finding. It's one of the most useful in the game, with an ability that we'll be taking advantage of at regular intervals. Each orb has their own uses and some of them are limited in charges, but the first one works forever which is very handy.

The third floor presumes that you know what you're doing in terms of the controls and strategy. If not, then this floor will be particularly challenging as the enemies are more varied and dangerous and if you're not careful, you'll be ambushed by multiple foes at once. Even with our equipment we're still a little fragile, so don't hesitate to run back to the healing fountain a few floors up if you need to; it's better to spend time then resources in this game, as there's no time limit to stick to.

Finally, we're going to meet someone friendly on this floor. Well, I say friendly but that's not entirely true; barely approachable and consumed with avarice and pride in equal measure is more accurate. A non-hostile face is better then what we've encountered so far however, so Drake will talk while he can and perhaps we might learn a thing or two about the ruins and what lies beyond.

What we learn is going to cost us however.
