This is an excellent patch for the Master System version of Sonic 1. It adds support for the Japan only FM chip and rearranges the entire soundtrack for it. There are also a number of easter egg songs included but I've only found one: if you beat the game with all emeralds, the dummied out Marble Zone theme plays during the credits.

Of the two 8-bit versions of Sonic 1, the Master System version appears to have been made first, and is the harder version of the two. The biggest examples are Jungle Zone Act 2, where the bottom of the screen acts as instant death; and the final boss, which is completely different and uses an electric wall attack instead of easy to dodge flamethrowers.
