0:00 Bubbling
In the Madurai Outskirts, you have to interact with bubbles to extend your breathing time underwater. The bubbles give you a lot of time, but if a battle goes south, who knows what could happen?Fortunately, Pots has the almighty Tumble skill to quickly flee from battle.
I didn't realize this before, but you can have Valdraek cast his elemental modes outside of battle, allowing you to enter battle in that mode. However, inn-type events will cause him to return to neutral state.
One of the chests will contain a boss encounter.
1:07 Boss: Leviathan
The boss is a pushover if you have lots of water resist, but the time limit still applies. It will drop a summon orb for Quathorn.
2:03 Back to Madurain Outskirts
Once you find the plant, you're given the choice of returning to save Adele or continuing to the mysterious temple. I chose to return to Adelle, since I see it as atonement for Pots trying to pressure the crew to rush to Porthul. The game will most likely force the former result anyways, since Valdraek would be super pissed if we let Adelle die.
6:28 Saving Adelle
Once you deliver the Capitis Seaweed, you'll have to talk to Elder Kurai to learn more about the mysterious temple/palace. The Keep of Ulim'Dai was a palace for the Braveal emperor, but it's also the crash site of the meteor. Now there are mainly monsters and Fallens there.
While waiting for Adelle to recover, talk to all your party members in town. Once Adelle wakes up and you rest up, you can return to the palace.
17:18 Sunken Palace
This is a rather short dungeon, but on the third floor, you'll find a lone Braveal. If you follow him, you won't be able to return to Madurai. He's actually King Rathanos, who tricks you into following him to the Celestium Meteor so that he can sacrifice the party to get his revenge on the gods.
24:31 Boss: King Rathanos
He casts elemental barriers on himself to make himself resistant to everything but the opposing element. However, he can still take some decent damage from Pots's Steal Health, which is non-elemental. This might help you maintain some sort of DPS if Valdraek is struggling to change his element before the boss can change his own. Yes, the boss changes elements a bit too quickly IMO.
28:08 Back to the Surface
Valdraek destroys the celestium meteor in order to break the Maelstrom. A shame we can't use the meteor for our Celestium Shard quest.
30:22 Back to Wein's POV
Once you're back in the Great Gaias, unequip everyone and start up Wein's next segment.
Wein is now in Sovereign, where he learns of a serial killer of paladins. Despite no longer being active among the city's paladins, he can't let this injustice stand! Unfortunately, Keeper Brada doesn't seem to care much about the situation, given that he's actually a Gauf in disguise.
You'll have to do your own investigation, which reveals the murders happen at night. Wein will wait until night to search for the killer, only for a thief to attempt to mug him rather than the real culprit.
46:20 Boss: Wein vs Atrius
It looks like he really did survive Azrael's attack on the Thief Guild. He'll start the battle with a huge evasion buff, which allows him to dodge both physical and magic attacks easily. You'll have to defend until he loses the buff, which can be difficult because he has Sneak Attack to deal massive damage. Once you deal enough damage, the battle will end.
49:51 Escaping the Forlorn
The Forlorn show up, forcing the party to team up with Atrius. Atrius has some outdated gear, so make sure to re-equip him
Once you escape, the party will rest in Kaharnin and you can talk to party members. Furi states that despite her arrogant attitude, she's under a lot of pressure to succeed because of her father. Despite Wein's overly flowerly dialogue, he was once a village boy who was adopted by the Beranedyns, but the Forlorn slaughtered the village and his family. He was taken in by the Cortlabar family afterwards.
