The first 13 level of MazezaM by Kian Vincent, a new game for the BBC Micro (adapted from an existing game by Malcolm Tyrrell, with Tyrrell's level designs and some new levels created by Vincent). A unique sliding blocks puzzle whose defining feature is the rule that blocks can only be pushed horizontally, and pushing a block moves all the others in the same row. (This implies that a row containing a block at an edge of the level grid cannot be pushed in that direction, and one with blocks at both edges cannot be pushed at all.)

From this very simple rule, all sorts of ingenious puzzles can be created using a surprisingly small level area -- see Level 10 in this video for an example, but the puzzles will get even more intricate and difficult to unravel as the game progresses! As with all Sokoban-like games, the difficulty comes from the fact that pushing can only be done by a character who first must be moved into the correct position -- but often this involves working out a precise sequence of pushes in order to make a desired move possible. In the later levels, this leads to long and intricate chains of logic, making these puzzles very satisfying to solve -- especially when you can see what needs to be done and then still have to work out exactly how to do it.

The music for this video is "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place" by the Animals.
