Level 4 (Aladdin's Cave) of the Arabian scenario is one of those frustrating levels that you can never quite remember the solution to after you've not played it for a while. Perhaps the hardest puzzle on the level is connecting the two mid-air cages in the first room; and on this occasion, it was my frustration at not being able to reconstruct the solution rather than a deliberate search for shortcuts that led to finding the improvement shown here.

This is simply an extension of the manoeuvre I call a "quick catch": in PC Repton 3, one can step out from under a rock and then down quickly enough to prevent it falling off a curved object below. Here, there are two rocks falling, so even though Repton has one square further to move, he can get down quickly enough to prevent the second rock falling off the first. This allows both rocks, which are normally unavailable, to be used in the connection puzzle: it also means that both cages are connected to the right wall, so I do not have to wait for the spirits to go up and down the bottom corridor.

This improvement means that my total time for the Arabian levels is now under 20 minutes, leaving Aztec as the only scenario requiring more than 20 minutes for completion.

The music for this video is "Prince Ali" from Disney's Aladdin.
