Today I'm gunna walk you through a perfect run of Mega Man 2. This morning we'll be examining Woodman and taking a look at why he's so hard. You'll wanna take out the rabbits as fast as possible so you don't become overrun with bats. A good way to do this is to hold you thumb stiff over the shoot button and vibrate your hand, as if you're imitating someone with Parkinson's. It's not a pleasant sensation, and it's learned technique. If it's hurts you eyes or teeth too much you're straining yourself, just use the turbo fire. You can use Flashman's weapon to skip the dogs. If not you just gotta find the right spot to stand and time your jumps to the arc of fire. They're twenty shots and you can get in about 4 shots per opportunity.
This next one you wanna be jumping forward as you shoot the dog, and running back between fire, because it's give you a larger window of not getting hit. You can actually hit this one by standing on the left of the platform and jumpshooting in that little nook. If you're not patience just do they same as the last except with a minor obstruction hanging from the ceiling.
Just tease the bats -- try to wake them up.
The gorillas are on a timer once you spawn them, so just step back and wait for a few seconds until they jump up. You always want to be on the look out for the bird eggs and shoot it before it drops. This is pretty fun actually. And a great farming opportunity if you're low on health or need weapon ammo. Don't mind me I just screwed up here, you want to fall down the ladder, because you need to be fast on this screen. Run down the steps and jump just a step above where he stands.
Fall down the next ladder and shoot the final rabbit as quickly as possible. If you don't you'll get stuck like I did and have to deal with consequences of being temporarily trapped and looking like a moron.
The chickens can be tricky. Run up to them as close as possible and turn the other way running for a split second.
Woodman isn't so bad except for one part towards the end of the battle. After he throws his leaf shield jump and shoot him as much as possible. When the leaves come floating down jump while they pass you to make your frame slightly more narrow. Repeat this 2 more times. On the fourth time, make a pixel perfect jump over the leaf shield, run under Woodman, stop here, jump dodge, and run to the right wall. Continue what you were doing earlier and you should finish him off easily before he gets too close to you. Congratulations you just beat Woodman. How does it feel?
