In todays video we take a useless Lego set and turn it into a very functional small modular building. After pulling the UP! House base out of the Lego city in October, and then recently detaching the 12x32 MILS from the Assembly Square that it used to be on, I wondered what was I going to place in that new free space. Originally, I was going to place the natural history museum there in addition of the next 32 studs, but ultimately decided against it as I wanted corner units to fill the neighboring space. Then one day I saw a video from @bricksie on how he took a Ministry of Magic Lego Set and turned it into a small modular building. It was at that moment I knew what I was going to do with the spare space in the city. The model instructions can be found on rebrickable.com by Brick Artisan. It takes one Harry Potter Ministry of Magic set #76403, and 122 additional pieces. This set is soon to be retired if not already, so the set is very often on sale. Originally I bought one for $60, but ended up getting scammed. So while checking Target, I bought this one for $35 on the clearance shelf. Then I went on bricklink and ordered the other $30 of missing parts. The build was rather easy, and intriguing to do. Was really cool seeing all the easter eggs and references the set provides. The top level is the Ministry Of Magic statue, the next is the offices of Delores Umbridge and Arthur Weasley. The next floor looks to be the trial room as well as the prophecy room, and the very bottom is an office, and the entry way into the set. For around $60, you could not ask for a cleaning small building. The colors are really wonderful on this set. In addition you do get a nice array of minifigures, most of which I put in there stations inside the building. I finish the video by showing what it looks like set into that blank space.
