Today we are building and reviewing the brand new Icons Lego Modular Building. This is the Natural History Museum set #10326, with 4,014 pieces. Before we dive too deep in todays build, we begin with our four Lego advent calendars (Harry Potter, Marvel, and 2022 & 2023 Star Wars) for the 3rd and 4th days of Christmas. Before the unboxing, I share some honest thoughts about todays build. I feel like this building is replacing the Assembly Square set for a 48 stud building, thus is the reason we maybe didn’t get a hospital or post office. Maybe those themes are being held for a 32 stud baseplate build. I also mention how I feel this is a step back for Lego as this is just 1 solid building and not anything more. In this video we will be adding the rebrickable.com builds from Brick Artisan that we did on our Thanksgiving episode. Unboxing the set we get 33 bags, 1 book, and some thin plastic banners. It is a fun comparison to the Assembly Square from 2017 that had almost the same amount of pieces, but had only 6 bags, where this in 2023 has 33. There are no building steps for the build in the manual, but I can declare that it is almost 23 bags for the base, 9 bags for the second floor, and 8 bags for the roof. On the outside we have the common architecture that is seen with most modulars, but with the fun added scene of the dog running away with a bone and a employee chasing him. The lower level of the museum focuses of dinosaurs, the second is nearth and space, and on the roof we have the curators office. It isn’t a bad build, just not my cup of tea. Moving on with the build we add the Cafe, and Tours buildings. This took a little bit of creativity to make them blend in, but with extra brick and tiles, we got the job done nicely. After placing it in the Lego city, we add our tiles to pair it to the surrounding area. The finished product looks amazing, and changes my mind on the dislike I have the museum alone. I still don’t feel like it meshes well in the city. I don’t fully recommend the set, but if you have them all, then buy it and go through the notions.
