Mokou and Yuugi vs 7F Demonic Eye's Shadow (Labyrinth of Touhou 2 Steam)
0The Demonic Eye was more annoying than I was expecting, probably because I expected to use the same HinaParu setup for the original version of this boss (unfortunately, the setup doesn't work)
This started as an Eientei video that got changed halfway through, again... this wouldn't have happened if Kaguya still had her Fire Rat's Robe spell from LOT1. Not sure why 3peso decided Kaguya needed two separate SPI attacks. Or why Fire Rat's Robe became a FIR reducing passive. I guess the idea is she fights Mokou a lot / she'd be great to use against boss versions of Mokou? But LOT2 Mokou is a physical attacker so she'd be bad to leave out during the Mokou fights in LOT2 anyway. It only makes sense if it were LOT1 Mokou, since Mokou was a magical attacker in LOT1...
Aaaaaanyway, for this fight I had to rely on Mokou (who I've been using purely as a tank until now). I also had to use Yuugi (who I've been avoiding so far, since I feel she's somewhat OP)
I went with Warrior Subclass for Yuugi and Mokou, even though Gambler and Transcendent are probably better for raw damage, just because of the convenience (Warrior/Sorcerer have passives that let characters start with buffs and let them maintain those buffs without the strict need for a proper buffing character). TBH, while I imposed the challenge on myself, I am starting to miss the convenience of Ran and her backrow buffs.
The rest of this setup also wasn't as optimized because, honestly? These Enhanced Bosses are exhausting to fight at Challenge Level. If I were to do this fight again, I'd probably go for an alternate front row. Komachi, Eirin and Reisen aren't very good PHYS tanks. Komachi's counter doesn't help much and Reisen's MND debuffs aren't very helpful to Mokou or Yuugi. Eirin could still be around for inflicting HVY but I'd probably use a different party setup.
Anyway the next Shadow fight is *deep sigh* Knowledge's Shadow
