Honestly there is a lot to go wrong here which keeps paper magic alive:
1) I had to redeem my prerelease code through the mtgarena.com website rather than through this game.
2) This is not the same as opening in real life given the stupid popup ad I should have 1 starred.
3) They did not name the booster, which the real game adopted play boosters for stronger cards that work in both set and constructed (though some say it's been power crept).
4) I didn't get other mtg arena stuff with new products on Amazon (target dangerously overcharges) I bought like collector's boosters, gift bundles and 3 pack booster sets.
5) I am not seeing alternate art cards in my packs nor special lands (meticulous archive and scene of the crime lands were pulled, but no full art nor holos). It also did not include the mythic rare and land that the real life cards give you in addition to the larger packs (8 cards digital with no sleeves/other options outside wild card vs 14 physical cards with a non magic related card including counter buttons, token or art cards).
You do get notifications for free stuff and wild cards to replace banned rares, but this could have been handled way better, especially finding a redemption area in game. Do correct me if I am wrong. At least the gameplay is solid, you can test decks vs bots before other players (the AI is not tough) and it includes sealed and other formats (though in real life it does help to customize, like a basic land and commander and agree on copies/deck size).
