I’m impressed by the fact they finally updated these mobile and steam pixel remasters (and the discounted bundle for what you didn’t already buy was nice, though iOS is cheaper and google play d) after the console pixel remasters from long ago. Mobile added movement speed dash, random encounter/compensatory hp toggles (no more needing to beat yourself up to gain hp), as well as boost (which makes unarmed playable give. This fists of fury berserk boost) and better font.
The game is probably too easy now (which you could halve experience for crazy difficulty as teleport to auto win is nerfed and no peninsula of power to bypass that arduous route which boost bypasses), let alone whatever mages you have can equip double shields mid battle for maximum evasion (RIP dual wield unless unarmed or using OP swords. They even patched out the good bug to attack a 2nd enemy if the). Given the encounter off toggle for traps and early Mysidia, holy is also useless given its 20k and the armor/power staff and even ice bow cost about the same combined.
I do feel axes, bows (go to the front line and pull until you get this lucky flame bow drop from a captain let alone preemptive strike) and spears are beginner’s traps (and Mysidia 15k isn’t worth it especially considering you could use mythril for whatever you can’t afford). I was impressed to do all of this right after semitt falls. I did notice that my support spells are more accurate in this version. I also learned about how equipment has a magic interference stat, which unarmed, knives and staves do not weaken magic anywhere near as much as bows and shields. Spears get a modest decrease, with swords and axes a bit more. What a pointless mechanic.
