Ninja Hattori-kun Famicom / NES CRT TV Playthrough asmr
Released 3/5/1986, Ninja Hattori-kun: Ninja wa Shuugyou de Gozaru no Maki is a Famicom-exclusive action platformer developed and published by Hudson Soft. Think Shinobi meets Adventure Island. Ninja Hattori-kun was originally a manga series created by Fujiko F. Fujio of Doraemon fame. The series later went on to have multiple anime releases, including one on Asahi TV from 1981-1987.
The manga that had originally been released in 1964 also had a live-action TV adaptation that came out in 1966. The show, faithful to the manga, features a kid ninja named Hattori that wears a mask that looks like a cartoonish kid's face. The vibe is like if you mixed Eraserhead with Seven Samurai and the original Little Rascals show. Honestly, the best part of playing this mediocre game was discovering the live-action black and white TV series. I highly recommend looking it up!
I am considering a playthrough to be beating the Hi Score. I played on an original NES with a Game Genie adapter (see Shorts) to allow for playing a Famicom cartridge. I am using a NES original controller, RCA cables, and a Sharp X-Flat 27" CRT TV.
