[Nioh] Over 6 minutes of a revenant blocking
2Mission: The Inheritance (NG)
Just me messing with the AI of the human enemies a little bit more. This revenant is basically the boss of this mission, certainly with the health and ki pool of one at least.
As with most of the human enemies with mostly player character's moveset, he starts to block if he detects the slightest hint of the softest breeze across his eyelash. So me being me, I just hit him while he's blocking.
I have some buff for safety, and fire to fish for a burn for some extra chip damage. They all timed out before they come into effect though. Pierce guard and life drain helped out a bit too because the strategy isn't perfect, just mostly consistent.
Other weapons with quick enough attack speed can force him to keep blocking, I just find ki management easier with the kusarigama. Spear Shove loop doesn't work quite as well since he attacks faster with the dual sword, and I can't recover quicker than he can swing.
Parrying is quite definitely more effective, but this is more convenient for me.
P/S: I just entered NG+, but as far as I can tell the enemy behaviour remain largely the same. So any other further bullying attempts will probably jump between NG and NG+ missions depending on convenience, since replaying missions to unlock the appropriate NG+ missions just for testing is a bit of a hassle.
