NOOB FRIENDLY: Create Your First Cloud Server Or Virtual Private Server (VPS)
8In this video, I will show you how to make your first cloud server or Virtual Private Server also known as a VPS. This guide will be beginner friendly and will take you step by step through the process of picking one of the below VPS providers, creating an account as a first time user to get some free cloud credits, configuring your cloud server, and lastly connecting to your server via the SSH protocol using an SSH client. Cloud servers are virtual private servers running on a cloud computing environment and can be accessed on demand with valid permissions that were set up by the root user during the server setup process. Cloud servers run and perform just like their physical counter part and perform tasks such as data storage and running applications. They also have a very distinct customer advantage over their physical counter part, they can be upgraded on the fly at the click of a button on the cloud server hosts providers dashboard.

Steps To Create A Cloud Server Or VPS:
1. Decide on a server host provider from my list above and click on one of my referral links to get some free cloud credit
2. For this video, we will use DigitalOcean as our server host provider. Start by navigate to https://digitalocean.pxf.io/c/1245219/1373759/15890 to get $200 in free cloud credits from my referral link to test out DigitalOcean's servers free for 60 days
3. If you don't have a DigitalOcean account, click create free account. If you have an account already, click Sign in
4. On your DigitalOcean dashboard after adding your billing details, you will now see your $200 free trial cloud credits. Click on the Create at the top of the dashboard
5. Click Droplets
6. Create and configure your DigitalOcean droplet by selecting the region, OS image, Droplet Type, CPU, Authentication Method, and Hostname
7. Click Create Droplet
8. Click copy next to your droplets IP address, once your droplet is online and running

10. Open your SSH client
11. Paste in your cloud servers IP Address into the Host Name section
12. Click open
13. Type root to login as the root user
14. Enter the root password you created when you setup your cloud server to successfully log in.
Congratulations! you have successfully created your first VPS!
