With my bike, I can now go down Cycling Road, and there are a bunch of Cyclists that I can battle for some experience. Then at the end, Dawn gives me a useful item, and I decide to check out a bit of Route 206 to see what I can find there.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

When you talk to Dawn's father, you get a Rare Candy, in the original games, he would have given you the Exp. Share, but we already have it turned on, and it cannot be turned off, which is why I am rotating around team members in this playthrough. There is a hidden Super Potion behind the Gym, which I didn't even know you can get.
Then we have Cycling Road, and there are a lot of Cyclists you can battle, and they use a bunch of Pokémon, like Shinx, Starly, and Ponyta, one of them has a Pikachu, and when you get to Route 207, you meet up with Dawn, she will give you the Vs. Seeker and a Pokétch App called Dowsing Machine, which you can use to find Hidden Items.
Then I check out Route 206, and there is the Wayward Cave, and the secret entrance cannot be fully accessed until you have Strength, and this was where you can catch a Pokémon called Gible, which is a Dragon/Ground-type that eventually becomes a very powerful Pokémon when fully evolved.
For new encounters, there is Stunky, which is exclusive to Brilliant Diamond, it is a Poison/Dark-type, and it is the pre-evolved form of Skuntank. Stunky has kind of a rough start, it does learn Bite at Level 18, and it has Acid Spray right when you catch it, and it does get some nice moves like Venoshock, Toxic, and Screech. When it evolves, it will learn Flamethrower right away, you can keep it as a Stunky until Level 36 so you can get Night Slash earlier, Skuntank learns it at Level 38. It is a decent option if you want to use a Dark or Poison-type for your team, and its access to Flamethrower does make it stand out from others.
Next is Bronzor, it is kind of rarer, but they are more common in Wayward Cave if you want to catch one. Bronzor is a defensive Steel/Psychic-type with two Abilities that work around its weaknesses, Levitate to avoid Ground-type moves, and Heatproof to reduce damage from Fire-type moves, I prefer Levitate on Bronzor, but it no longer takes neutral damage from Ghost or Dark-type moves now that Steel-type Pokémon no longer resist those types. It does get Gyro Ball relatively soon, but Bronzor isn't much of a damage dealer, so it's more about taking hits for the team, it does get Confuse Ray for utility, and it can get Reflect and Light Screen to help support its teammates, and it is one of few Pokémon to learn Hypnosis, so it is a solid option to use for your team if you want a defensive wall.
In Platinum, this is where you would get Gligar, and you can get it in the Grand Underground in Brilliant Diamond, so I will go over it. Gligar is a defensive Ground/Flying-type with good Attack and Speed, but unfortunately you cannot get the Razor Fang to evolve Gligar until the aftergame, so you can use it as a temporary member. Gligar does get some nice Egg Moves like Wing Attack, Cross Poison, Night Slash, and Metal Claw if you are interested, and it has some good level up moves like Knock Off, Acrobatics, U-turn, X-Scissor, and Earthquake. It is a decent Pokémon, but you can't get Gliscor in the main story until the aftergame, and there is no Eviolite, which would have made Gligar at least usable in the lategame.
I do restore my Fossils in this video, and unfortunately they are at Level 1 as opposed to Level 20 in the originals. In Brilliant Diamond, you get the Skull Fossil, which can be restored into Cranidos, a Rock-type Pokémon with a high Attack stat, Cranidos comes with Headbutt right away, and it does get some good TM moves like Rock Tomb, Rock Slide, and Earthquake, and it has good level up moves like Assurance, Swords Dance, Zen Headbutt, and Head Smash. When Cranidos is evolved, it has the highest Attack stat in the game, so it can make a great team member if you want to use one.
In Shining Pearl, you get Shieldon, which is the more defensive out of the two, it is a Steel/Rock-type, making it very resilient, but gives it a massive weakness to Fighting and Ground. Shieldon does get some nice status moves like Taunt, Swagger, and Metal Sound, and it can work with one attacking move, like Ancient Power or Iron Head, and it can even learn Metal Burst, which is like Counter or Mirror Coat, but it doesn't have reduced priority, but Shieldon does have a low Speed stat to work with, and it has Sturdy, so you can use Metal Burst to good use. I wouldn't say that Shieldon is worth using, you can have it there for taking hits while you are healing your team members, and in the lategame where its weaknesses are more common, you can use Metal Burst to take out the big threats, so it can be useful if you want to try one out.
