The 3rd battle with the rival is also tricky. I need a X-Special and a X-Speed to outspeed and OHKO Grovyle with Ice Beam. Otherwise, it just OHKO's me with Leaf Blade. Numel is again the perfect set-up for this. Wailmer is a simple 2HKO with Mud Shot. Confusion from Water Pulse is the only thing that bothers me. I go to the Fortree Pokémon Center for a second before leaving the city I also bought some Hyper Potions and an Ultra Ball.
There is my first use of Cut. Collecting this Rare Candy is a lot easier than waiting untill Zigzagoon picks up one. I dodge the trainers and talked to Steven. I ran from the Kecleon and received the Devon Scope. I teleported back to Fortree thanks to me entering the Pokémon Center. Then I could enter the gym and battled 2 required trainers letting me level up to L33 just barely. Now I can use my 3 Rare Candies to evolve Marshtomp into Swampert. I saved right before facing the Gym Leader.
