When I was playing the Blaziken 7-star Tera Raid Battles and recording them, I caught this among them. I spotted a Hitmonlee raid. This was a Pokémon I hadn't had yet in the Blueberry Pokédex, so I joined this one successfully. Well, "successfully" might not be a completely accurate term, as you'll see in this video.

Normally, I don't show Pokémon selection, but this time, I wanted to show that this Hatterene, whom I've trained for Tera Raid Battles, has a Tera type of Bug and the moves Dazzling Gleam, Thunder Wave, Tera Blast, and Psychic. (I should change Anticipation to Magic Bounce, now that I have better access to Ability Patches. I should also add a hold item on; Hatterene was, as you might figure from the early box spot, one of the first Pokémon I tried Tera Raid Battles with.)

That's because, after about 82 seconds of the game trying to load the raid, I get to select my moves...and it turns into Draining Kiss, Moonblast, Calm Mind, and Light Screen. You might also notice that Hatterene's name has become ニンフィア, or Nymphia, the Japanese name for Sylveon. I hadn't noticed that at first, but I did think that these weren't the moves I had on Hatterene. My Pokémon also Terastallized to Fairy instead of Bug, which I thought was odd. Also, Hatterene was taking an unusually high amount of damage from these attacks, even though she should have good defenses.

It was only after Hatterene fainted, and my character tossed out a shiny Sylveon that I realized what had gone on: there was some desynchronization at the beginning of this raid. The game had loaded Hatterene's model, but everything else corresponded to Sylveon. I've never had this happen to me before...

Incidentally, I thought that "Hitmonlee" was an oddly perfect name for one of the trainers participating in this raid, but I realized this was further desynchronization. That's supposed to be ゆうと (Yuuto), and their icon shows them using Hatterene instead of Sylveon (and using Hatterene's moves). In addition, Avalugg is using Lapras's moves, Lapras just sits there doing nothing, and at the end, Hitmonlee (the Pokémon) uses Close Combat on nothing in particular and faints as a fainted Avalugg Terastallizes. This raid was discombobulated to smithereens. At least I caught Hitmonlee though!

On another note, notice the absolutely poor choice of bringing Hisuian Avalugg into a Hitmonlee raid. I get this player's thought process. They saw the Dragon Tera type on Hitmonlee and wanted to go for the knockout with a strong Ice attack. They might have forgotten that Hitmonlee can still do Fighting attacks for 4x damage. Even with Sturdy, that's incredibly risky, and unsurprisingly, they got taken out once Hitmonlee was able to actually hit Avalugg.
