For only two days, we get a Valentine's Day event, this one featuring Tandemaus, which will be appearing more frequently in Tera Raids. These Tera Raids for Tandemaus give a good amount of Tera Shards, and you can get sandwich ingredients from them, usually fruits and sweet seasoning. There is a higher chance of encountering Tandemaus with the Fairy Tera Type, if you need a bunch of Fairy Tera Shards, you can use those Tandemaus Tera Raids as a good way to collect them, and the materials from Tandemaus can be used to craft TMs for moves like Hyper Voice and Play Rough.
Tandemaus will be appearing in 1 to 5 Star Tera Raids, and going over the moves, 1 Star Tandemaus Raids have Pound, Baby-Doll Eyes, Echoed Voice, and Super Fang, the 2 Star Tandemaus have Bullet Seed instead of Pound, 3 Star has Charm and Hyper Voice instead of Baby-Doll Eyes and Echoed Voice, while having Play Rough as an additional move. The 4 Star Tandemaus have Population Bomb and Encore instead of Hyper Voice and Super Fang, while having Agility as an additional move, while the 5 Star Tandemaus have Play Rough instead of Charm, while Hyper Voice is an additional move.
Going over the Abilities, Tandemaus has Run Away and Pickup, and it has Own Tempo for its Hidden Ability, its evolved form Maushold has completely different Abilities to Tandemaus, it has Friend Guard and Cheek Pouch for its regular Abilities, and its Hidden Ability is Technician. Tandemaus have a 1 in 100 chance of evolving into a Family of Three, otherwise it usually becomes a Family of Four, and Tandemaus is the only Pokémon to not have an evolution animation happen during then, but I did recently find out that the evolution animations happens when the battle ends with Tandemaus as the active Pokémon in the battle.
Population Bomb is the signature move of the Tandemaus line, this move hits up to 10 times, and while it pairs well with the Loaded Dice, this ensures up to 4 hits out of 10, which means the Wide Lens is a more preferred Ability to get in a bunch of hits with Population Bomb, and this Ability is powered up by Sharpness, but no Pokémon with Sharpness can learn Population Bomb, the reason why the move is powered up by Sharpness is that the move is called Mouse Cut in Japanese.
When evolved into Maushold, it has another signature move called Tidy Up, this increases Maushold's Attack and Speed when used, and it can be used to remove Substitute and entry hazards, and while Maushold's Attack stat is kind of average, using Tidy Up gives it the Attack boost to make Population Bomb hurt for some good damage.
Going over the moves Maushold can learn, it can get Beat Up, Bullet Seed, Play Rough, and Charm for some decent level up moves, and for TMs, it can learn Fake Tears, Mud-Slap, Low Kick, Trailblaze, Chilling Water, Thief, Aerial Ace, Low Sweep, Dig, U-turn, Shadow Claw, Thunder Wave, Taunt, Crunch, and Tera Blast, and if you give it a Mirror Herb and enter a picnic with a free moveslot, it can get Bite and Baton Pass for possible moves, and despite Baton Pass being a TM move in this game and Tandemaus being able to learn Baton Pass through TM, Maushold cannot. It has seen good usage in the competitive scene, despite its average stats except Speed, because it can use Tidy Up to boost its Attack and Speed, and its Population Bomb pairs well with the Wide Lens. With Technician, it can use moves like Bullet Seed and Bite, while it is easily walled by Steel-type Pokémon, Maushold can go into a Fire or Fighting Tera Type and use Tera Blast as a way to get in some huge damage against them. It is one of few Pokémon to get Friend Guard for its Ability, and it has seen use in Double Battles when paired with Annihilape, the strategy is Maushold can use Beat Up to power up Annihilape's Rage Punch, and Maushold even has access to Follow Me to redirect attacks from the opposing side. Maushold isn't an ideal Pokémon to use in Tera Raid battles, because Normal-type Pokémon aren't the best to use in them, but it does have some good utility moves like Charm, Fake Tears, Chilling Water, Mud-Slap, and Taunt to help with supporting allies, and it has Friend Guard to reduce the damage its teammates take, but the downside is it cannot set up screens, its best use is to lower the opponent's stats.
